Support to Education Carries on from çalış Carnival Committee
Çalış Carnival Committee, most of the members are British citizens living in our town, carries on their supports to education at the new education year as well.
Çalış Carnival Committee that painted the walls, renewed the boards and tables and bought slide for the children at Çatalarık Kindergarten School in summer visited the school and wished success to children. Çatalarık School Headmaster İlkay Yuvarlak noted: “Children come to school more willingly now. We appreciate Çalış Carnival Committee for their close attention and support to our school.”
Committee President Peter Clark stated: “We are very happy to live in your country. This is our second homeland. We will take responsibility like every citizen living in this country as best as we can; especially we are going to carry on supporting education. Çalış Carnival Committee supplied scholarships to 10 university students with the income gained at 2009 carnival and renewed the windows of Yanıklar Primary School. We also purchased equipments to Silkar Primary School. We bought school uniforms to the children in need, table football to the boys’ dormitory and white sticks to Six Dots Foundation for the Blinds. Security staff was provided to boxing club. I am a retired teacher as well and seeing the glimmer in their eyes is the greatest happiness for us.”
