The 10th Ölüdeniz Air Games Festival which has a great contribution to Ölüdeniz and our region started yesterday. Air Games Festival is to last 4 days this year from October 14 to 18.

Turkish Stars that are shown as one of the best show teams of the world is to perform a magnificent air show on Sunday at 12.00 after the trial flight on Saturday.

The 10th Ölüdeniz Air Games Festival that is to be held in Fethiye Town of Muğla started with a ceremony in Belcekız Beach.

Despite the bad weather conditions, the festival attracts great attention with stunning shows.

400 paragliding pilots from 40 countries attend the festival this year.

Ölüdeniz Mayor Keramettin Yılmaz made a speech at the opening ceremony and stated air games festival was a brand integrated with Ölüdeniz and Fethiye: “We are very proud and delighted to make paragliding which has become the accessory of Ölüdeniz known to the world with such a spectacular festival.” Yılmaz also pointed out cable car project and road problem was to be solved soon.

Fethiye District Governor Mehmet Ali Karatekeli focused on the road problem of Babadağ in his speech. Karatekeli indicated: “The Ministry of Forestry supports the investments of 250 thousand with their own possibilities as well. After the festival ends, we are starting parquet works at 2 km road and jumping fields.”

Jumping from parachute at 50 m.

Parachute jumping and helicopter shows were performed for the festival. Hasan Dökmetepelioğlu, a tandem pilot jumping from Babadağ, jumped from another parachute at 50 m. Dökmetepelioğlu who could open his parachute at 50 m to the ground made the audiences live moments full of excitement. After his jumping, Northern Cyprus Aeronautics Sports Club performed a helicopter show. The helicopter show carried out with remote control drew a lot of attention. Acrobatic shows amazed the audiences as well.
