Turkish Motorcycle Federation is to held Turkey Motocross and Mediterranean Enduro Championships in Fethiye on October 16. A rock festival for 30.000 young people is to be organized for the first time this year during the championships.

Esenköy Motocross and Youth Festival is to host Mxonfest on October 16-17-18 in 22000 m2 area. The festival is to be named the biggest motocross and youth festival of Turkey.

A camping area is to be supplied for 10.000 people by the festival committee at the forest area. Audiences younger than 17 years old will not be allowed to festival area. The entrance fee is 45 TL as a combined ticket and daily fee is 25 TL. German rock band Haggard, Turkish rockers Teoman, Aylin Aslım and Bulutsuzluk Özlemi and other rock bands are to perform at the festival in which 15 separate concerts are to be organized.

On the other hand, Turkey Motocross and Mediterranean Enduro Championships are to be held during the festival for 24 hours. The 6th of the Motocross Championship and 4th of the Mediterranean Enduro Championship is to be held. The championships have been advanced one week due to the festival. 60 sportsmen are expected to join the races. Several acrobatics shows are to be performed at the championships as well.

Turkey Motorcycle Federation Administrative Board Member and Festival Committee Director Sadık Özdemir noted all the arrangements were completed. Özdemir explained they aimed to make Fethiye the centre of motocross and people were to be full with entertainment and sports between October 16 - 18.

Özdemir explained: “Big firms give sponsorship support to bring the bands to Fethiye for the festival while shoppers collect money and decide about the gifts for the races. Hotels in Ölüdeniz are to host the artists and Türsab is to make the transfers from the airport to the hotels. Dolmush prices to festival and racecourse areas are to be 1 TL from the bus terminal.” Özdemir also added all the safety precautions are to be taken and the registrations of professional racers are to be completed. “Normal motorbikes may be used for the races as well. People may join the races free with their own motorbikes. Our main goal is to make people love motocross races and enjoy this sport by falling at the soil ground instead of asphalt and make them see the difficulties of this sport.”
